On December 5, the CALS Office for Global Engagement hosted a delegation from Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (KSNUAHS). The goal for the visit was to explore opportunities for faculty and student exchange.
Established in 2013, KSNUAHS offers bachelor, masters and doctorate degrees in agriculture, horticulture and forestry. Similar to Iowa State University's land grant model, the university also has a focus on research and extension education.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Danny Singh, Associate Dean for Research and Discovery, and Dr. Arti Singh, Professor in Agronomy. Campus tours included a visit to the Virtual Reality Applications Center (VRAC), the ISU Kent Feed Mill, the Seed Science Center and the Department of Horticulture.
Members of the delegation included: Dr. Jagadeesha, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Basavaraj, Retired Professor of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry and KSNUAHS Board of Management, Dr. Kumaraswamy, KSNUAHS Board of Managers, Dr. Kalleshwara Swamy, Professor of Entomology, Dr. Uma Kumaraswamy, physician, and Dr. Dinakar Bhattramakki, Corteva Agriscience.
